In 2017, Gianni Kina and Linnie Tam set out on a fun and excited new journey, feuled by a simple desire: to create a vibrant fashion playground for the wonderfully weird. As two eager and first-time business owners, we boot-strapped and eagerly joined forces with any factory that would take a chance on us. It was a period of highs and lows and lots of growth, discoveries and lessons, as we learned the ropes of entrepreneurship and defined where we wanted to take Kina and Tam.
Then, in 2020, a turning point transformed our entire approach. We made a firm commitment to ethical fashion, and everything changed. We embarked on a mission to find factories that would share our vision - ones that upheld the highest standards of ethics and responsibility.
Today, as we reflect on our extraordinary journey in 2023, we are overwhelmed with an immense sense of pride. We have successfully transitioned from working with just any factory to collaborating with three remarkable ethical factories. These factories have become cherished partners, the very pillars upon which our production stands.
Every single step of our creative process, from the initial sketches to the final garments finding their place in your wardrobe, is approached with deep respect and consideration. We consider the wellbeing of our amazing garment workers, the environment, and our cherished customers in very step of the decision making process.
Today, we are elated to share that we proudly and only collaborate with certified producers who embody our core values of ethics, sustainability, accountability, and transparency. All of our partner factories are BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) certified and compliant, a standard which serves to monitor the supplier chain to ensure that textiles are made in an ethical and socially responsible manner.
